Ultra fractal + PS...
My wife [link] challenged me a while ago to make a chessboard with marbles. And textures representing the different pieces. And here's the result.
I have to admit that I've cheated. My computer nearly died from layersickness so I had to render it in two portions. The white side first and then the black. All put together in PS.
